Botox®️ Bethesda, MD

Botox®️

For years Botox has helped so many men and women successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. As people age, they long for a more youthful appearance and Botox is able to help with this goal.

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle is then not able to contract. This causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. Botox is typically used on the forehead lines, around the eyes, and frown lines. Typically wrinkles are caused as we age, but they are also brought on by sun damage and gravity.

Receiving Botox actually only takes a few short minutes, and anesthesia is not required. You will simply get injected with a fine needle into the specific muscle and feel only mild discomfort.

Our entire staff is dedicated to helping you. We want to ensure that you are happy with your results and that you never feel like you have any unanswered questions. We are here for you before and after your treatment.

Chemical Peels Bethesda, MD

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of your skin. The peel gently removes the outermost layer of the skin, leaving you with completely fresh, untouched skin. Results include even-toned, smooth, tightened, and refreshed skin.

Peels are most often done on the face, but can also be used on the neck, chest, and hands.
Chemical peels can be used to treat acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots/damage.

How does it work?
Chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment to remove the outermost layers of skin in order to expose new, untouched skin. Your NP will create a chemical mixture specifically tailored to your face and skin type to ensure the best results.

While patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment, the skin is sensitive and should be makeup free and protected from the sun for at least 2-4 days. Most patients begin to experience peeling after 48 hours, which resolves itself in 2-5 days.

Dermal/Lip Fillers Bethesda, MD

Dermal/Lip Fillers

What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances used to treat a wide range of cosmetic issues in the face and hands, including diminished volume, fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Several different companies make fillers, and each has its own unique formulations, which are useful for treating distinct problems in separate areas of the face.

By filling in certain areas of the face, we can contour and create the visage you’ve always dreamed of. Over time, dermal fillers are slowly absorbed by the body and most last anywhere from 12 to 18 months before necessitating a touch-up.

Fillers vs. Botox
Dermal fillers and botox are both minimally invasive, injectable cosmetic treatments. Both are performed as outpatient procedures in the comfort of your nurse practitioner’s office and require minimal downtime. While both can improve the overall appearance of the face, they achieve this in different ways.

Botox is primarily used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. It is a purified form of the botulinum toxin, but is a safe, FDA approved treatment that has been used for several decades now.

Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, also known as expression lines. By blocking the nerve signals, muscles in the injection site become temporarily paralyzed, thus softening or eliminating wrinkles from the area. These results can last up to three months, and the treatment takes about five minutes to complete.

Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are primarily used to rejuvenate the skin and add volume and fullness to various areas of the face. Different brands and types of fillers are made of varying ingredients, including:

  • Hyaluronic acid, such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and Belotero®
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite, such as RADIESSE®

Each of these fillers is designed to treat certain kinds of aging or other cosmetic issues. Depending on which one is used, they can last anywhere from 12 to 18 months. On average, treatment takes approximately 45-60 minutes.

(PDO) polydioxanone Thread Facelift Bethesda, MD

PDO Thread Lift

The PDO absorbable thread lift safely and instantly lifts up loose skin on the face, neck and the body with minimal downtime. PDO sutures are FDA-approved and are one of the safest materials that can be used in the body. Your skin will fully absorb the sutures within 4 to 6 months without leaving any scar tissue. When placed directly under the skin vertically and horizontally to create a mesh network, this serves as the foundation for new collagen production in the skin. The results appear naturally and gradually to improve fine lines and to firm the skin. The effects continue to enhance as your skin produces even more collagen over the next several months. More threads can always be inserted weeks to months later to continue to improve the results and prolong the effect. Give me a call at (240) 630-1952 to book your initial consultation!

Kybella Bethesda, MD

Kybella

Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for adults, which permanently destroys excess fat cells under your chin resulting in an improved jawline and profile. What causes a double chin? The three main causes are: weight gain, genetics and aging. Unfortunately, sometimes no matter how much you exercise or diet, your double chin may not go away, causing you to look heavier and older than you actually are. You are a good candidate if you are over 18 years old, you’re bothered by excess fat under your chin, you don’t want surgery, and you are within your ideal body weight. Book your consultation for Kybella by calling Fresh Face at (240) 630-1952.

  • How long does it take to work? Studies show that users may see results as soon as four weeks after their first treatment. Results increase with time and it may take up to 6 treatments or 6 months to achieve maximal results.
  • How long does Kybella swelling last? Swelling with Kybella is expected and indicates that fat cells have begun to break down. During the swelling period, you may also have some bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness which are all temporary. Swelling generally peaks the first 1-2 days of treatment.
  • How many sessions do you need? In the studies done evaluating Kybella, patients needed between 2-6 treatments to achieve desired results. However, we have seen that about 2-4 treatments have good effect. Treatments are spaced every 4-6 weeks
  • Can I get Kybella done the same day as other injectable procedures? Yes, you can receive other treatments the same day like Botox and filler.
